Perełka – A Grateful Soul Who Found Her Home
Since I was a child, dogs have always been a part of my life – I can’t imagine living without them. I love mixed breeds, and age doesn’t matter to me. Only physical ability was a consideration. I decided to adopt because it breaks my heart to see animals suffer from the very beginning of their lives due to human cruelty. I wanted to bring relief to at least one of them – and I already had, and still have, other adopted dogs.
I took in Perełka from someone who didn’t want her. I believe dogs from breeders don’t adapt to change the way adopted dogs do.
Perełka settled in very quickly. At first, she walked hesitantly around the yard, but the moment I carried her inside the house, she ran straight upstairs to my room and jumped on the bed – she knew she was safe there. From the very beginning, my family and I were amazed at how polite and smart she was. She slept peacefully from the first night, scratched at the door when she needed to go outside, and never made a mess indoors. The only issue was her slipping through gaps in the gate and running into the road – but my dad quickly fixed that.
Now Perełka is over 9 months old and fiercely protects us – letting strangers know they’re not welcome if they mean harm.
She has the most beautiful big brown eyes with matching markings around them. She’s white and has a uniquely curled tail that looks like a hook. Perełka is incredibly well-behaved and grateful – and she shows it every single day.
After this experience, I’m absolutely open to adopting another dog.
I strongly recommend adoption! It’s worth doing – adopted animals love two, if not three times more than those from breeders.
